Swakopmund, with hints of its German colonial past, is an interesting coastal town and often works well for a day or two between more traditional safari areas. It’s not a traditional beach resort but there’s plenty to do here including quad biking on the dunes, sand boarding, scenic flights along the coast or kayaking amongst seals in Walvis Bay. There is a variety of accommodation here to suit most tastes and budgets.
