The exceptional Serengeti National Park, where iconic East African open plains appear to stretch to the horizon, is home to myriad resident wildlife and the annual wildebeest migration.
The wildebeest are constantly migrating through the Serengeti ecosystem which straddles both the Serengeti National Park and the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. This famous migration, where herds approach two million head in total, follows a vague pattern year by year which tends to be dictated or influenced by rainfall and food availability. Alongside this spectacle the wildlife includes cheetah, elephant, zebra, lion and giraffe to name a few.
The range of accommodation options is vast, with camps in lodges in all corners of the park which work well at different times of the year. Safari activities include game drives, walking safaris and cultural experiences.
