Ruaha National Park

Ruaha doesn’t receive the superlatives given to Tanzania’s more famous safari areas, which is to the benefit of those who choose to visit. It’s not as big as Nyerere, but every bit as important in terms of wildlife on offer. The park is set along the Ruaha River which is big and powerful in season, but dries to a sand river, with just a few pools, for much of the year.

Most of the park is a vast and varied expanse of rugged, semi-arid bush with a mere scatter of quality authentic bushcamps, not often full. In Ruaha’s vast expanses activities are unlimited; guests can enjoy walking, night safaris or experience traditional game drives. Ruaha is a fantastic place for travellers who appreciate the simple values of traditional wildlife safaris.
