Okavango Delta

The largest inland delta in the world, the Okavango Delta offers amazing wildlife viewing from a vehicle, on foot, or from the water. There are riding safaris too, offering experienced equestrians an exhilarating way to explore the landscape. The wildlife viewing is superb with elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo, crocodiles, cheetah, hyena and wild dog all present. There are myriad antelope species too and over 400 bird species recorded amid the combination of woodlands, water and open plains.

The Delta floods seasonally, with high water generally between May and September. This is when many camps will offer water-based activities like mokoro (canoe) trips and boating safaris. No matter when you visit there is wonderful wildlife to see as the animals never have to move too far for water or food.
