Exploring Kenya : Lucinda Goes for a Gander

During her travels she will be revisiting old favourites and exploring some brand-new camps. Her journey will take her across Kenya’s diverse landscapes, from the bustling streets of Nairobi to the rolling hills of the Chyulus, the wildlife-rich plains of the Masai Mara, and the pristine shores of Diani Beach. This trip will showcase Kenya’s iconic beauty, combining the best of safari and coastal luxury, and promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Starting in Nairobi: Palacina Hotel

Lucinda’s Kenyan adventure begins in the vibrant capital of Nairobi, where she’ll be staying at the elegant Palacina Hotel. The Chyulu Hills: Ol Donyo Lodge

Next, Lucinda will journey to the stunning Chyulu Hills to stay at Ol Donyo Lodge, one of Kenya’s most exclusive and breathtaking safari lodges. Nestled between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks, this area is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and rich wildlife, including large herds of elephants and an array of predators. At Ol Donyo, Lucinda will experience a truly unique safari, with the opportunity to take part in horseback riding, guided walks, and even sleep under the stars on the lodge’s rooftop starbeds. Masai Mara: Mara Toto Tree Camp & Mara Plains

The next stop on Lucinda’s journey takes her into the heart of the iconic Masai Mara. Her first stay will be at the brand-new Mara Toto Tree Camp, which opened on 1st July this year. Here she’ll experience the Mara from a fresh perspective. Located along the Ntiakitiak River, this intimate camp offers just four beautifully designed suites set in the trees, creating a truly immersive wilderness experience. The Masai Mara is world-famous for its abundant wildlife, from big cats to vast herds of herbivores, and Lucinda will be treated to thrilling game drives, including the chance to witness the Mara’s famed lion prides in action, and maybe catch some of the action of the wildebeest migration.

Following this, Lucinda will head to Mara Plains Camp, a Relais & Châteaux property also located within the Masai Mara. This camp offers an unparalleled luxury safari experience. Located in the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Mara Plains is known for its exclusivity and incredible wildlife encounters. The camp’s beautifully appointed tents offer stunning views of the savannah, and with fewer vehicles in the conservancy, Lucinda will have intimate and unhurried game viewing, including the possibility of spotting leopards, cheetahs, and rhinos.

Diani Beach: Msambweni Beach House

After the thrill of the Masai Mara, Lucinda will trade the bush for the beach, heading to the white sands and turquoise waters of Diani Beach on Kenya’s south coast.
