Walking Safaris

Getting out of the vehicle and exploring Africa on foot is an amazing experience.  In the company of some of Africa’s finest guides you will get a deeper insight into the wilderness; whether it is learning about hippo highways, differentiating the tracks of black or white rhino, listening to bird song or watching a herd of elephant move peacefully through the trees.

From lodges offering walking safaris as one of their daily activities, to multi-day mobile safaris walking from camp to camp, there are choices to fit different styles and preferences.  Accommodation is similarly varied; stay in a luxury lodge and take walks each day or sleep under the stars for a more adventurous experience.

A walking safari offers a great chance to see, and learn about, the smaller flora and fauna which is often overlooked from a vehicle.  Zambia is often considered to be the birthplace of the walking safari and still offers some of Africa’s best. Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa all also have excellent options to explore the bush on foot.
