Nyungwe National Park

This remarkable park encompasses the largest high-altitude rainforest in East Africa. It is an extraordinary place in which to view primates, with 13 different species resident amid the Afromontane forests, bamboo-covered slopes, grassland and wetlands. Among sightings visitors can expect are chimpanzees, l’Hoest’s monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys and Angola colobus. The bird watching is also superb with over 300 species present.

Among safari activities here are chimpanzee tracking, birding and enjoying the tree canopy walk which provides a 360-degree view over the ancient rainforest canopy.
