Homeland of the Samburu people, this remote reserve holds more wildlife than the semi-arid habitat might at first glance suggest. With the Ewaso Nyiro River providing a vital water supply there are healthy populations of elephant – the park is home to the Save The Elephants HQ – along with lion, giraffe and plentiful antelope species.
It’s a less travelled wilderness than some of its more famous neighbours and offers game drives, walking safaris and camel rides among fun ways to explore.
